Nikon Capture Version 1.0.1 Released
Nikon have released a combined update/trial version of Capture NX. It's available to download now and fixes a number of bugs. This software can either be used as a fully functional 30-day trial version of Capture NX or as an updater for Capture NX. This version includes many fixes for some issues that occurred with Capture NX version 1.0.1
Lexar Professional 133x 4GB SDHC Card
Lexar has today introduced a 133x speed-rated Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) flash memory card designed for professional and high-end amateur photographers. The Lexar Professional 133x 4GB SDHC card delivers a minimum sustained write speed capability of 20MB per second. Lexar Professional SDHC cards will be available in March, price to be announced.
And the winner is...
The fourth and final round of the Hasselblad Anniversary Quiz, which was run as part of the 100th anniversary celebrations to mark the birth of the company's founder, Victor Hasselblad, has been won by Jeff Amberg, a professional photographer from South Carolina in the USA, who specializes in photographing people for corporate, marketing and advertising materials. Jeff was one of nearly 30,000 photographers worldwide who entered the online competition. Mark Duhaime, Marketing Director, Hasselblad USA Inc., presented Jeff with his prize, a top-of-the-range, 39 Megapixel, Hasselblad H3D-39 DSLR with an 80mm lens, worth almost $32,000.
microSD makes its mark
Kingston Technology, the world's leading independent memory manufacturer, today announced the launch of a special microSD card, with dual adapter bundle. The new card with adapter is designed to allow maximum compatibility of microSD Flash memory cards across multiple platform devices.
SanDisk 4GB microSDHC Card
SanDisk have today introduced a 4Gb microSDHC card - the largest capacity of the world's smallest removable flash memory card. The SanDisk 4GB microSDHC card can store more than 1,000 digital songs, 2,000 high-resolution pictures or up to 8 hours of MPEG 4 video. Retail release of the card is planned for later in 2007.
Kodak 5500, 5300 and 5100 All-in-One Printers
Kodak All-in-One printers promise to save customers up to 50% on everything they print. For every £10 / $15 spent on colour ink and £7 / $10 spent on black ink, you can print the same number of pages at half the cost of other consumer inkjet printers. When the KODAK Photo Value Pack is purchased, a 4 x 6-inch photo costs as little as 7 pence / 10 cents per print. In the UK, the Kodak 5300 AiO will be available in May 2007; the Kodak 5500 is expected to begin shipping in June 2007. In the USA, beginning in March 2007, the Kodak 5100 and Kodak 5300 AiO Printers will retail exclusively at Best Buy, whilst the Kodak 5500 is expected to begin shipping in May 2007.
